If I have two instructors who assign ETIPS cases, can I use the same login?
1. How do I complete an ETIPS assignment?
Look over the Student Assignment Overview, a step-by-step resource which details how to work through an ETIPS case assignment from beginning to end. If you prefer, view the Student Assignment Overview as a PDF. ( You will need Adobe Acrobat Reader. Download this feature at the following website: http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep.html.)
2. I am experiencing technical problems. What should I do?
First, consult the technical specifications for using the cases; technical details are located on the bottom of every page in the website -- simply click on the link for "Technical Specifications for Cases". If you meet the required specifications, contact your instructor about your problems.
3. I can't remember my assignment code.
Your instructor creates this code when she/he creates an assignment, so contact your instructor for a reminder.
4. I am having trouble viewing the school's web pages.
A Flash plugin is required to view case websites. Consult the technical specifications for using the cases; technical details are located on the bottom of every page in the website -- simply click on the link for "Technical Specifications for Cases".
5. How do I complete an assignment?
For step-by-step instructions on how to complete an assignment, access the "Assignment Overview" located on the "Using ETIPS" tab.
6. How do I access my instructor's feedback and comments on my assignment?
On the "My Assignments" tab, you will see a list of your assignments. Click on the assignment you want to explore, and you will then see a list of cases on the left-hand side of the screen. If an assignment has been scored by your instructor, the words "Feedback Available" will be listed underneath the assignment. The feedback will be viewable on the screen as scores and/or comments.
7. My instructor told me to access handouts. Where do I go?
Handouts your instructor has assigned for an assignment's cases can be found on the "My Handouts" tab. Then, to view your handouts for a case, and any notes about them from your instructor, click on an assignment name to see the cases in that assignment listed on the screen. Scroll down to each case to see to its handouts. %p.bold
8. How do I sign up for another assignment?
Click on the "My Assignments" tab. On the page there is a link to "Sign up for additional assignments." Click on the link and enter the assignment code your instructor gave you.
9. I forgot my login password.
On the homepage where you login, simply click the "Login" button to be sent to a page that can help you; "If you've forgotten your password, we can remind you." Click on the reminder link, enter your email address, and you will be sent a password reminder.

11. How does the automated scorer work?
The automated essay scorer is only currently available for use with eTIP 2: Technology provides added value to teaching and learning. If using this eTIP, an explanation about the scorer can be viewed on the "Submit Answer" page. Click on the "How does the automated scorer work?" link to read all about the scorer.
12. I don't understand the consent form, and/or have other questions about the study.

13. If I have two instructors who assign ETIPS cases, can I use the same login?
Yes, you can use the same login ID and password to access the cases by both instructors. Once you are logged in, you will be prompted for an assignment code. This code is unique for every assignment; it is how the software "knows" to connect you with a specific assignment. Therefore, if you have two instructors who are using the ETIPS cases, you will be given an assignment code from each of them. Once you enter the code, you will see the name of the assignment appear on the left-hand side of the "My Assignments" tab. Simply click on the name of the assignment you wish to work on!
14. What do the dates mean for the assignment?
Back to topThe dates are provided by your instructor as a way of simply communicating beginning and end dates of an assignment to students. Please note that you will have access to the cases and any feedback from your instructor BEFORE and AFTER these dates.
