Professional Development

Professional development is targeted at successful technology integration. Professional development is an essential component in the process of teachers learning to effectively integrate technology in a classroom environment. This training can take many forms and should include a wide variety of skills beyond the operation of specific software. This resource area provides resources for professional development opportunities that exist across the country.

The Journal is sent to AAFCS members as a benefit of membership, and is available by subscription for non-members.

Description:   NATEFACS is an Affiliate of the Association for Career and Technical Education (ACTE) Family and Consumer Sciences Education Division.  The purposes of NATEFACS are to improve and strengthen teacher education in family and consumer sciences. Establish and improve standards of research in family and consumer sciences teacher education. Sponsor and otherwise support professional discussion in family and consumer sciences teacher education. Encourage and promote a sufficiently full and fair discussion of the pertinent facts involving concerns and legislation affecting family and consumer science teacher education and the improvement of work and family life. Promote liaison and other cooperative professional activity among members and other having related concerns, especially other affiliates of the ACTE Family and Consumer Sciences Division.

Individuals engaged in pre-service and/or in-service education of Family and Consumer Sciences teachers shall be eligible for membership in this organization.

The JFCSE is a peer reviewed professional journal; responsibility accrues to the JFCSE Editorial board .
